Departments
Few schools offer the breadth of curriculum choice (both in and outside of the classroom) that we have at Howick College.
The classroom curriculum is divided into the key learning areas of:

- Social Sciences and Technology
Careers and Transition helps the students to bridge the gap between school and the world of work, while Learner Support provides support for those with special learning needs.
Howick College has a fairly extensive Vocational Education programme.
We have:
- modern building and facilities including new "state of the art" facilities for science, technology and the performing arts
- a very broad curriculum - with 40 subjects offered in Year 12 and Year 13
- extensive pastoral care and support systems
- well qualified, experienced language support teachers who offer extensive ESOL programmes

Our school is made up of a wide range of activities, not all of them in the classroom and they also include leading-edge educational initiatives.
Location
Howick is a pleasant, attractive suburb on the eastern edge of the Auckland metropolitan area (about 30 minutes from the central city). It has beaches, shopping and entertainment centres, and a large number of ethnic restaurants and food shops.
