Why Study in Germany

Each year more than 1.7 million students study abroad to attend a university or college in a country other than their own.

Nearly 10% of these students study abroad in Germany as the country has a lot to offer foreign students whether they are English language students, first-year students or postgraduates as it has more than 300 universities and colleges offering classical subjects such as Medicine, Business, Engineering, Law, and many more disciplines available to a very high standard.

German universities are open to anyone who is able to fulfill the prerequisites and academic freedom is a basic principle of the German academic system. German public universities and colleges don't charge tuition fees to Germans although as an international student fees are applicable.

German universities have been involved in many leading discoveries which have gained them much international renown. Modern German universities now combine theoretical work with practical applications. They provide education and training and basic research. Cooperation between German Universities is common and many learning institutions cooperate closely with multinational companies (MNC’s) and other research institutes in Germany and overseas.

The combination of these factors has led to an overall increase in graduates holding German degrees chances of success on the job market.

Many students today no longer want a fundamental theoretical education and are looking for the balanced academic training necessary for a professional career at home or abroad. Practical experience in regional companies in Europe is usually part of the German study abroad curriculum. German companies are interested in attracting highly trained graduates from overseas and in many cases these students then continue to work for the German company as a foreign representative on their return to their home country.
