Courses
General English
Some students come to New Zealand to begin to learn, or to improve on their English language skills, and to spend time enjoying the natural beauty and rich cultural and recreational environment that New Zealand has to offer.
Others come to pursue their degree studies or professional careers in the English language medium, and need some extra time and help to reach the required language level.
Our General English, or ESOL programme (incl. IELTS preparation classes) is a great place to accomplish all of these objectives - offering high quality English tuition and internationally experienced English teachers who are skilled in modern methods of ESL teaching, and care about each individual student.
We realise that every student learns at a different speed and has different strengths and weaknesses. At Edenz we support our teachers and encourage them to make each student feel like they are the only one in the class. This individual care and attention means that your English will make good progress, and your teacher will also become your friend.
Study Tours
Edenz will arrange a tour programme that suits the needs, interests and culture of your group. The study hours and activities are combined in a way that maximises the group's learning and enjoyment during their stay in New Zealand.
Program - Programs are made up of a combination of tuition, afternoon activities and sightseeing, day trips, and overnight trips. There are a range of options available to you for each part of your study program.
Tuition - A typical tour will involve 15 hours per week of tuition. The school day starts at 9:00 am. There are three hours of class with a fifteen minute break at mid morning. Students will be given time for lunch and then gathered together for the afternoon activity. Specialized tours of study are also available on request. One very popular option is teacher training for groups of English teachers from non-English speaking countries.
Orientation - All students have an orientation which may include an English test for placement into appropriate levels.
Activities & Sightseeing
All tours will include an activity program. Activities are divided into three categories. When choosing the program one activity should be taken from each category to ensure that students experience a good variety of activities.
Day & Overnight Trips - Students may enjoy a day or overnight trip to explore New Zealand's fantastic scenery or world-renowned tour attractions. Edenz aims to make tours exciting, enjoyable and safe for all students.

Accommodation
Homestay
Homestay is the best way to start your stay in New Zealand, even if your plans are to be more independent or go flatting with friends. Starting with a homestay allows you to adjust to the New Zealand way of life, familiarise yourself with the transport systems and learn how to find good accommodation in the best location and at the best price. Homestay also offers you a chance to practice your English, and gives you that extra care while you settle into a new culture. All of our homestays are checked and must pass a detailed evaluation process. Homestays start at $200 per week.
Hostels
There are several hostels in central Auckland and near Edenz. These range from $130-$200 per week. This price does not include food. It is important to remember that while staying in a hostel offers more independence than a homestay it requires students to provide for themselves. Students apply for hostel accommodation in the same way as for a homestay. Edenz will make the placement.
Flats & Apartments
Flats range in prices per person per week depending on the location of the flat and the number of students sharing the cost. This price does not include electricity, phone or food.
Apartments can range in prices depending on the location, time of year and number of bedrooms. This price does not include electricity, telephone or food.
Edenz will only assist with finding flats and apartments after the student has been living in an Edenz homestay for 4 weeks.
NB. It is important to remember that living in an apartment and flat offers independence, however, they also require students take care of themselves and be disciplined in their study and attendance. This type of accommodation is recommended for more mature students.

Internships
Our internships are designed to provide language students and others with the opportunity to gain New Zealand work experience. These students come from all over the world - Germany, Slovakia and Japan to name just a few; and range from those who have just left school (no professional experience yet), to those who have a tertiary qualification, to those who are studying at an overseas university and would like to gain some work experience.
How it works:
- All applicants must complete an Edenz Student Registration Form, provide a current CV (Resume), and evidence of their level of English.
- Applicants indicate which fields of work they want to apply for. Edenz will match the applicant with any available positions.
- Some businesses may wish to interview applicants and/or contact referees before accepting the applicant.
- After reviewing the registration form, level of English, CV and any other documentation provided, the business will make a decision to approve or decline the application.
- If the application is declined, Edenz will find another business to submit the application to and the process will be repeated until the applicant is placed.
- When the application is approved, the business and the applicant sign a contract for the agreed period of internship and both parties are given a copy.
- After the applicant is placed and the contract signed, the internship can begin on the agreed starting date.
Internships have a coordinator who supports the intern as well as the business should any problems or questions arise. The coordinator will accompany the student on the first day of internship, and will go through the workday orientation.
